Liz is owner and founder of Joy of Herbs, LLC, an herbal and
wellness consulting practice in New Market, MD.   In addition to her
clinical practice in New Market,  Liz is a Master Gardener with
Frederick County.  For two years she was a supervisor in the
student clinic at Tai Sophia Institute's graduate herbal medicine
program.

Liz is a member of the American Herbalist Guild (general), American
Botanical Council, United Plant Savers,  the Weston A. Price
Foundation, and The Rotary Club of Frederick.   Liz received
certification in the Food as Medicine: Integrating Nutrition into Clinical Practice in June 2007 and again in June 2008.  This program is sponsored by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and Georgetown University School of Medicine.   See below for other completed training and education.  She's passionate about plants and an avid gardener.  She's been a Frederick County Master Gardener since 1999.  

Liz's teachers have included Dr. James Duke, Simon Mills, James Snow, Claudia Joy-Wingo, Aviva Romm, Rosemary Gladstar, Michael Moore, Paul Bergner, Eric Yarnell, Mark Hyman, Joe Pizzorno, and many more esteemed professionals in the herbal and nutrition field.

Liz is available to conduct workshops and seminars on a variety of topics related to herbs and nutrition. She has given many seminars and workshops to different organizations, including the first Frederick Holistic Family Health Conference, Frederick Community College, Linganore Counseling and Wellness, University of Maryland nursing students, local high schools, local libraries and clubs, and more.

Liz is a Clinical Herbalist and Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist.  She received a Masters of Science degree in Herbal Medicine from the Tai Sophia Institute, fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (www.tai.edu)

Liz is a Licensed Nutritionist and Certified Nutritional Specialist (CNS)  through the American College of Nutrition (www.amcollegenutr.org).   She is certified by the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (www.cbns.org).   She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
